Abstract

Purpose –This study aims to analyze the effect of dynamic capability on competitive advantage and examine the mediating roles of entrepreneurial orientation and organizational agility in non-hotel accommodation businesses in Batu City.

Design/methodology/approach – This study employed a quantitative explanatory approach. Data were collected from 186 non-hotel accommodation businesses in Batu City, Indonesia, and analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with SmartPLS to examine the direct and indirect relationships among the variables.

Finding/Results –The findings reveal that dynamic capability positively affects competitive advantage, entrepreneurial orientation, and organizational agility. Entrepreneurial orientation and organizational agility also enhance competitive advantage and mediate the effect of dynamic capability on competitive advantage.

Originality/Value –This study extends the Resource-Based View and Dynamic Capability Theory by examining the mediating roles of entrepreneurial orientation and organizational agility in the relationship between dynamic capability and competitive advantage. It also contributes empirical evidence from the non-hotel accommodation sector, which has received limited attention in previous strategic management and hospitality research.
