Purpose – This study examines the effects of organizational commitment and work environment on employee turnover, with job satisfaction as a mediating variable at PT XYZ.
Design/methodology/approach – Data were collected using research instruments and analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling-Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) to examine direct and indirect relationships among the variables.
Findings – Organizational commitment and work environment significantly affect employee turnover and job satisfaction. Job satisfaction also has a significant effect on employee turnover. Furthermore, both organizational commitment and work environment have significant indirect effects on employee turnover through job satisfaction, confirming its role as a partial mediator.
Originality/Value – This study highlights the importance of organizational commitment and a conducive work environment in strengthening job satisfaction and managing employee turnover. The findings provide practical insights for organizations seeking to improve employee retention through internal organizational factors.
